Almost one week has passed from entering in Nepal, just the time to have a first idea of this new country. The impression is very positive, a peace air is breathed here, serenity, everything runs slowelier, people always say hello to you, children in the streets always smiling raising up their tiny hands to a shy hello. We have rented a room in a Nepalese family house. Arjun and Anita are very helpful, they speak English and are always ready to give advice of
any type and necessity. From the house is a ten minutes walk to Khatmandu centre, in a calm and less tourist zone. With a pleasant walk we reached the roads of Thamel, the heart of the city, where you can feel mix smells of incenses, candles and flowers, and look at colors and fruits leave it in front of each temples honouring to the divinities. We walk freely, without being stopped by the sellers or someone who offers to be our guide, ther’s
not even taxis that offer a ride to us and persistently blow the horn. We meet lots of foreign comparing to India, we are in high season now and most of the people comes here principally to do trekking on the majestic mountains that cross the whole country.
We will go walking as well, we have already dealt with the bureaucratic practices for the permissions and soon we will move in another city, from where we will leave for ten days on the way of Annapurna circuit. We are glad and excited, after having crossed so many cities and countries, in noises, sounds, chaos and smog, now we will be able to plunge in the silence of the nature and savour again that sensation of freedom and peace that lwas missing for some time.
